Raidergang set for four-game road series at Northern Kentucky

The Wright State baseball team returns to the Horizon League action for the first time since the end of March as the Raiders travel to take on Northern Kentucky this weekend. Due to anticipated weather on Saturday, the Raiders and Norse will play a pair of doubleheaders on Friday and Sunday, with the opening game set for 12 p.m. both days with the second game set for approximately 3 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State took the diamond for the first time in April last weekend when the Raiders met Florida Gulf Coast in a neutral site series in Alabama. The series between between two teams in the top-60 RPI saw FGCU take two of three, with the Raiders dropping a one- and two-run game and also tallying a 10-3 win in the middle game of the series.

NORSE NOTES
Northern Kentucky is 13-17 overall and 11-12 in Horizon League play after splitting a four-game series against Youngstown State last weekend.

RAIDER REWIND
Wright State and Northern Kentucky met back in early March to open Horizon League play, with the Raiders tallying the four-game sweep. Offensively, Wright State turned in eight-plus runs in each contest, while connecting on 15 total extra-base hits and six home runs. On the mound, Wright State saw three of four starters turn in double-digit strikeout performances and finished the weekend series raking up 57 strikeouts and allowing just 31 NKU hits and 12 Norse runs.

FINALLY BACK ON THE HORIZON
This weekend's series at Northern Kentucky will be the first Horizon League games for Wright State since concluding a four-game road series at Youngstown State on March 28. The Raiders lost two HL series - one at home and one on the road - due to COVID issues with Purdue Fort Wayne and Oakland on back-to-back weekends.

CHECKING THE LATEST TRENDS
Quincy Hamilton has reached base in 22 straight games entering the weekend series with Northern Kentucky, while Sammy Sass has the longest active hitting streak at 16 games. Sass is one of seven Raiders to have had a streak of at least six games with a hit, while his hitting streak has him with the second longest reached base streak on the roster behind Hamilton. Damon Dues and Tyler Black each have nine multi hit games to pace the Raider offense, while Black has a team-leading six three-hit games).
