The inclusion marked the first time Wright State has seen its name in the poll since the 2021 AVCA Preseason Poll, while the Raiders were a mainstay in the poll's listing during the COVID-altered spring 2021 season when they closed the campaign by receiving votes in the final seven AVCA polls.

Sam Ott was named Horizon League Player of the Week on Sept. 16 after she recorded 47 total kills and had a .349 attack percentage in three wins Sept. 13-15.  She opened action with 22 kills against Buffalo and added 10 digs for a double-double before a 14-kill effort in the win over then-No. 20 Miami (FL) and capped the weekend with another double-double (11 kills, 11 digs) against Ohio State.

NATIONAL LOVE
Grad student Sam Ott earned national recognition after her 3.92 kills per set average in the Raiders' weekend sweeps of Buffalo, then-No. 20 Miami (FL) and Ohio State grabbing one of seven national spots on Michella Chester's 'Starting Rotation for Week 3 on NCAA.com and NCAA social media channels on Sept. 17.  Additionally, Chester called Wright State a 'team to watch out for' on NCAA.com and NCAA social media channels on Sept. 18.
