LAST TIME OUT
The Raiders remain undefeated in Horizon League play after defeating IU Indy 3-2 courtesy of an 82nd-minute goal by Ashley Vaughn.
Wright State opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Samara Nunn dribbled the ball into the 18-yard box past multiple Jaguars defenders before laying the ball off to Makenzie Chinn, who took a touch and slotted the ball into the back of the net.

Nunn would double the Wright State lead in the 30th minute. The senior would intercept a sloppy pass in the IU Indy backline, dribble around the Jaguars' goalie, and place the ball into the back of the net.

Wright State's ongoing shutout streak would come to a close in the 38th minute when Lindsey Castillo sent a long-range shot that snuck under the crossbar and into the back of the net. The streak ended at 437 minutes of match time.

IU Indy would come out of the halftime break with a lot of energy and would score the equalizer in the 64th minute. Caroline Kelly played a pass up to JoJo Murphey, who chipped the ball over the head of Sarka in goal to level the score at two goals apiece.

The Raiders would get the winner in the 82nd minute when Caitlin Burger sent a corner kick into the box for Chinn, who headed the ball onto Vaughn, who volleyed the ball off a Jaguars' defender and into the back of the net.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland comes into Dayton with a 1-6-3 record on the season and a 0-1-1 mark in Horizon League play. The Golden Grizzlies opened conference play on the road, falling 0-4 to Northern Kentucky before a 1-1 draw with Cleveland State last Sunday. RAIDERS IN CONFERENCE PLAY
The Raiders are off to their first 3-0 start in Horizon League play since 2022 and are seeking their first 4-0 start since becoming a full-time member in 2001. A different player has scored all seven Wright State conference goals. The goals have been scored by Amber Branum, Makenzie Chinn, Samara Nunn, Olivia Stroud, and Ashley Vaughn. Kiera Sarka has played all 270 minutes in goal, only allowing two goals while recording 11 saves and two shutouts.

SEPTEMBER SHUTDOWN
After allowing 13 goals in the team's first five matches, head coach Travis Sobers challenged his team to limit goal-scoring opportunities for the opposition to give the Raiders the best chance to win. The team has responded by allowing only three goals across its next six matches in September, including a streak of four straight 1-0 shutouts. During the shutout streak, the Raiders played 437 minutes of match play without conceding a goal, spanning from the 58th minute against Bellarmine on September 4 and the 38th minute against IU Indy on September 28. Leigha Lauer and Sarka have both seen action between the posts over the three-game span. Sarka has recorded two solo shutouts, and Lauer has recorded one solo shutout. The pair split the shutout at Central Michigan, each playing 45 minutes.

SIZING UP THE 2025 SQUAD
WSU welcomes eight newcomers — including seven freshmen — to this season's roster. The Raiders' 34-player roster includes seven freshmen, six sophomores, 10 juniors, nine seniors, and a pair of graduate students.

OHIO STRONG
Wright State's 2025 roster features 24 players from Ohio – including 14 from the Dayton metro area (Beavercreek, Bellbrook, Dayton, Miamisburg, Springboro, Tipp City, Troy, Vandalia, Xenia).
