Wright State (25-23, 17-4 HL) will wrap up the regular season this upcoming weekend at Nischwitz Stadium against Youngstown State. The Raiders and Penguins will face off at 3 p.m. on Thursday, 2 p.m. on Friday, and 1 p.m. on Saturday. Wright State will honor its 2026 graduates and senior class with a pregame ceremony on Saturday.
Â
The Raiders led wire-to-wire at Bill Davis Stadium Tuesday night as Hunter Warren parked the first pitch of the game over the wall in left field. The homer is Warren's eighth homer of the season. Cy Turner would double the lead a few pitches later, laying down a beautiful bunt single to bring home Andrew Duncan from third base.
Â
Wright State would strike again for three more runs in the top of the second inning to jump out to a 5-0 lead. Warren would get the party started once again, driving in his second run of the evening with an RBI single. Duncan would follow Warren a few pitches later with an RBI double into the gap in right-center. Keegan Holmstrom would drive in the third run of the inning, scoring Holmstrom from third with a sacrifice fly.
Â
Ohio State would get two runs back in the bottom of the second despite the ball not leaving the infield. The Buckeyes would cut the Wright State lead to one with a solo shot off the bat of Dane Harvey in the bottom of the third.
Â
JP Peltier would give the Raiders a run of insurance in the top of the fifth, coming in to score on a fielder's choice.
Â
The Raiders would add two more insurance runs with single tallies in the tops of the seventh and eighth innings. In the top of the seventh, Duncan would park his fifth homer of the season over the wall in left center. Patrick Fultz would follow suit in the top of the eighth inning, launching his ninth homer of the season off the scoreboard in right field.
Ohio State would get one more run on the bottom of the eighth thanks to a Henry Kaczmar solo shot.
Â
Cooper Robinson got the start on the mound for the Raiders and pitched well, going 3.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four Buckeye batters. Evan Boeckmann was the first man out of the Wright State bullpen and got credited with the first win of his collegiate career. Boeckmann pitched 3.1 shutout frames with two strikeouts. JJ Thompson came out of the bullpen and pitched the final two frames, allowing just one run on one hit while striking out three Buckeyes.
