Box Score

The Raiders received a strong performance from three newcomers as the men's soccer team opened up play in the UAB Classic with a 2-0 victory over Birmingham Southern on Friday night. Freshmen forwards Adam Harp and Braden Fleak each scored a goal for the Raiders while fellow classmate Jonah Longino aided the cause with two assists.

Harp hit the go-ahead goal for the Raiders off a Longino assist at the 40:26 mark in the first half as WSU rattled off four shots on goal in the first half. The goal was Harp's second on the season.

Braden Fleak would put the icing on the cake in the second half with a goal, his fourth on the season. Longino recorded his second assist of the evening while Fleak has now managed to score a goal in all three of the Raiders contests this season.

Goalkeeper Tebias Mason recorded his second career shutout, collecting eight saves, as Birmingham Southern was quieted on the scoreboard for Mason's second shutout of the season. Birmingham Southern attempted 12 shots to the Raiders eight.

Wright State improves to 2-1 on the season and will finish Classic play against the host UAB Blazers on Sunday, September 3, at 3:30 Dayton Time.
