Box Score The Wright State men's soccer team stretched its winning streak to three games on Sunday as the Green and Gold grabbed a 4-1 victory at Bowling Green. Four different players got in on the scoring action as freshman Braden Fleak added a goal and an assist in the win.
Kwaku Gyimah got the scoring started for the Raiders in the 19th minute as he scored his first goal of the season to give WSU a 1-0 advantage over the Falcons. Fleak tallied his first assist of the season on the goal. Two minutes later BGSU would respond with a goal, as a George Davis corner kick found teammate Justin Kim for the 1-1 tie.
David Caputo sent a long pass downfield in the 21st minute to Fleak who was able to break away from the defense to score and give Wright State the lead for good at 2-1. The goal was Fleak's team-leading seventh of the season, while Caputo tacked on his first assist of 2006.
Roger Downing would score his first goal of the year for WSU in the 44th minute thanks in part to an assist from Josh Grossman, his third of the season, for a 3-1 lead heading into halftime.
The Raiders would tack on a final goal in the 77th minute as Fleak and Michael Conley assisted on Adam Harp's third goal of the year to round out the scoring on the day. WSU goalkeeper Tebias Mason stopped four shots on the day, as WSU laced 22 shots to the Falcons' 14.
Wright State improves to 5-2 on the season and will look to extend their winning streak to four games when they travel to IUPUI on Tuesday, September 19, at 7:00.
