Box Score The Wright State men's soccer team dropped their second straight match on Friday to Alabama A&M, losing 1-0 at Alumni Field. The Green and Gold held the shot advantage, but couldn't find the back of the net against the Bulldogs.
In the first half, the two teams played a scoreless 45 minutes with WSU holding a 6-3 advantage in shots. Braden Fleak launched two shots for WSU in the first half and Josh Zimmerlin tallied a pair of shots for the Green and Gold.
In the second half, Alabama A&M tallied the lone marker of the match in the 57th minute when Rogers Atugonza struck a shot off of a pass from teammate Lwazi Maziya.
The Raiders would threaten in the 96th minute when Fleak sent a rocket shot sailing towards the net, only to strike the crossbar and bounce away.
That was the final shot of the match for Wright State and Alabama A&M would escape with a 1-0 victory.
The Raiders are now 1-6 overall and will be off until Friday, September 26, when they take to the Alumni Field pitch for a nonleague tilt with Eastern Illinois. The Raiders and Panthers will square off starting at 7:00.
