Gerald Ogrinc scored three times and Rylan Ostrosky teamed with Lee Valencheck to post a 7-0 shutout over Butler for the Wright State Baseball team in the first game of a twinbill. It is the first shutout of the season for the Raiders, as the Green and Gold out-hit BU 13-3 in the contest.

The Raiders got the scoring started in the third inning as Ogrinc collected his first hit of the game and moved to second on a R.J. Gundolff singled to drive in the first run of the inning and Casey McGrew singled to put two runners on base. With two outs in the frame, Quentin Cate plate two more runs and Garrett Gray drove in a run with a pair of doubles.

With WSU leading 4-0, Ogrinc got the fourth inning started with a one-out single and he scored the lone run of the frame on a McGrew sacrifice fly, making the score 5-0 in favor of the Raiders.

Ogrinc drove in an RBI in the fifth inning – making it three straight innings with a hit for the catcher – and Ashe doubled in a run to push the Wright State advantage to 7-0.

Ostrosky retired the side in order four times in six innings of work on the mound, striking out three batters and allowing only two hits. Ostrosky walked only one in the contest and improved to 2-2 on the season with the victory. Valencheck allowed only a single and struck out one in three innings of work to collect his first save of the season.

The offense collected 13 hits – including four extra base hits – while the Bulldogs were held to only three hits. Ogrinc tallied four singles in the game, while Ashe and Gundolff each collected a pair of hits in the contest. All nine WSU players reached base – eight via hit – and five Raiders scored runs in the contest.
