Baseball Drops 8-6 Decision at #15 Clemson

Box Score

Wright State battled #15 Clemson to the end for a second straight day, but again came out on the short end against the Tigers as they scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to pull out an 8-6 win over the Raiders Saturday at Clemson.

Clemson tallied a run in the first before WSU tied it up with a run in the second on a Quentin Cate double and a Garrett Gray single to center. The Tigers, though, regained the lead with three in the bottom of the frame.

The Raiders picked up a run in the fourth on a Cate sacrifice fly and plated four more in the fifth as Ryan Ashe drove in the first run with a single through the left side and Tristan Moore later cracked a three-run home run to left, his first of the season.

The Tigers (5-0), however, tied it at 6-6 with two in the sixth and went back in front with two more in the eighth.

Wright State (2-4) wraps up the three-game set with Clemson Sunday with a single game at 1:00.
