Men Defeat Bowling Green 2-1

Box Score

A Brian Cothern goal with 8:08 remaining gave the men's soccer team a 2-1 Senior Night win over Bowling Green Tuesday at Alumni Field.

Seth Petrey gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead as, after being tackled just outside the box, connected on a free kick at the 17:12 mark of the first half for his first goal of the season.

Bowling Green (7-7-3), however, tied the game at the 77:10 mark of the second half as Danny Baraldi scored his fourth goal of the season on an assist by Rodcliff Hall.

Cothern, though, tallied the game-winner at the 81:52 mark on an assist from Bryce Rockwell-Ashton.  It was Cothern third goal of the year and the fifth assist for Rockwell-Ashton.

The Falcons tried one last push at the end, but senior Corey Whisenhunt, in his first action of the season, came up with a great save just before time expired to preserve the victory and give the Raiders the I-75 Cup.

WSU outshot Bowling Green 15-10 and led 4-3 in corner kicks.

Wright State (9-6-2) closes out the regular season on Saturday, November 5, with a 5:00 match at Butler.
