Box Score 2 The Wright State softball team dropped a pair of games in the second day of the Louisville Red & Black Tournament Saturday, falling to Boston University 9-1 and Louisville 8-0.
Boston University scored once in the first and twice in the third before the Raiders scored what turned out to be their only run in the bottom of the third. Liz Mathews was hit by a pitch to start the frame and advanced to second on a Mollie Berry bunt single. Both runners moved into scoring position on a China Frost grounder and Mathews scored as Justine Shilt reached on a fielding error.
The Terriers, though, broke the game open with two runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Louie Haney led the WSU offense with two hits.
The Raiders then managed just two hits against Louisville pitcher Tori Collins in the second game as the Cardinals tallied three runs in both the first and fourth innings and one in both the second and fifth.
Wright State (4-3) wraps up tournament play on Sunday, taking on SIU Edwardsville at noon followed by Louisville at 4:00.
