Johnson named to Horizon League All-Academic Team

The Horizon League released its 2020 Softball All-Academic Team on Friday, recognizing student-athletes for their success both in competition and in the classroom. Wright State junior Raidyn Johnson was among the 13 student-athletes who were honored in balloting by the League's faculty athletics representatives.

A Middle Childhood Education major, Johnson has appeared in 69 career games for the Raiders with 55 starts, compiling a career batting average of .296, a slugging percentage of .391 and a .374 on-base percentage with 23 RBI. In her shortened 2020 season, Johnson had appeared in 16 games with 14 starts and a pair of doubles while having driven in four RBI.

The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with seasonal Academic All-League Teams in each of its 19 championship sports. To be eligible for Horizon League All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 or higher (based on a 4.00 scale), have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester-hour or 36 quarter-hour credits and be a starter or important reserve.
