Box Score Wright State and Southeast Missouri managed the same number of hits, but the Redhawks had four extra base hits compared to none for the Raiders as SEMO won 5-1 in the second game of the weekend series Saturday in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
A two-run home run by Southeast Missouri's Kenton Parmley opened the scoring in the second before WSU answered with a run in the third. Hits by Sam Picchiotti and Jake Hibberd put runners on the corners and Kody Krizman followed with a run to right to plate Picchiotti.
That turned out to be the lone run of the day for the Raiders, however, as they left 13 on base for the game, nine over the final five innings, and hit into three double plays.
The Redhawks scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and eighth to round out the scoring and end Wright State's five-game winning streak.
Picchiotti, Corey Davis and Dan Marsh highlighted WSU's 13-hit attack with two hits each.
Wright State (9-7) wraps up the three-game series with Southeast Missouri with a single game Sunday at 1:00 Eastern.
