Down 3-0 after two innings, the Wright State softball team scored the final five runs of the game to post a 5-3 Horizon League win at Butler Wednesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs scored all three of their runs in the second as Maria Leichty doubled in Lauren McNulty, who led off the inning with a single, followed by a two-run home run from Erin Falkenberry.

WSU, though, started its comeback with a run in the third.  Angie Clark led off with a hit, went to second on a passed ball and scored as Kristi Boreing singled down the left field line.  The Raiders then tied it with two more in the third on two-out RBI singles by Clark and Boreing, driving in Michelle Baker and Reagan Stofcheck.

Wright State broke the 3-3 deadlock with two in the sixth.  Kortney Tackett started the frame with an infield hit and, after a Stofcheck bunt and Jess Gorman being hit by a pitch, Clark reached on an error as pinch-runner Kate Kine scored the go-ahead run.  Chelsea Archer then had an infield hit of her own to knock in Gorman with the second run.

Chelsea Contant (5-2) threw the first five innings for the win while Krystian DeWitt earned the save, her second of the year, by shutting out Butler over the final two innings.

Boreing had two hits and two RBI to pace the Raider offense while Clark also had two hits.

Wright State (19-24, 7-8 Horizon) continues the six-game Horizon League road swing this weekend with a three-game set at Youngstown State, starting with a 1:00 doubleheader on Saturday.
