Box Score

The Wright State men's soccer team held #16 Coastal Carolina scoreless until a goal at the 105:54 mark of the second overtime gave the Chanticleers a 1-0 win Sunday at the Wolstein Classic in Columbus.

Senior forward Ashton Bennett, who was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on August 27 and led the nation in goals (23) and points (53) in 2011, provided the game-winner at the 105:54 mark for Coastal Carolina.

Coastal Carolina (2-1) outshot the Raiders 31-11 and led 14-7 in corner kicks, but the WSU defense kept the match scoreless until the end as junior goalkeeper Jacob Bye recorded 10 saves.  Bye, who had eight saves Friday in a 3-1 win over Davidson, was selected to the All-Tournament Team along with junior midfielder Derek Zuniga, who had a goal and two assists in the Davidson win, and sophomore midfielder Emeka Ononye.

Wright State (1-3) opens the home portion of its schedule on Saturday, September 8, as the Raiders host Robert Morris at 7:00.
