Baseball Falls to Bryant

Box Score

Bryant broke open a scoreless game with two in the fifth and added five more over the next three innings for a 7-0 baseball decision over Wright State Friday afternoon at Nischwitz Stadium.

Starting pitchers Casey Henn of the Raiders and Peter Kelich of the Bulldogs were locked up in a scoreless duel over the first four innings, with Henn giving up just two hits and Kelich none.

In the fifth, though, Bryant broke through with a pair of runs on a RBI double by Adam Claire and a run-scoring single off the bat of Daniel St. George.  The Bulldogs then added one in the sixth and two more in the seventh and eighth to round out the scoring.

Kelich, meanwhile, held the WSU offense to just one hit over seven innings, a Michael Timm single up the middle in the seventh, with Garrett Gray collecting the only other Raider hit on the day, a single in the ninth.

Wright State (3-7) will host Bradley in a doubleheader Saturday at noon and will face Bryant again on Sunday in a single game, also at noon.
