Men's Soccer Falls 2-1 at Robert Morris

Box Score

A Chris DuPont goal gave the Wright State men's soccer team the lead midway through the second half, only to see Robert Morris answer with two goals down the stretch for a 2-1 win Wednesday afternoon.

After the match was delayed for an hour at the start due to rain and lightning, DuPont, a junior midfielder, gave WSU the 1-0 lead at the 63:35 mark of the second half.  Junior forward Bryce Rockwell-Ashton came up with a steal in the RMU end, feeding the ball to DuPont, whose shot from the center of the field curled inside the left point for his first goal of the season.  It was the first assist of the year for Rockwell-Ashton.

The advantage was short-lived, however, as Robert Morris tied it nearly six minutes later with a goal at the 69:20 mark by Carl Reid.  The Colonials then came up the game-winner at the 76:38 mark on a goal from Neco Brett.

"Tough loss to a much improved Robert Morris team," said WSU head coach Bryan Davis.  "We can't expect to have good moments and win.  Complete performances are needed at this level."

Robert Morris (1-1-2) led 16-13 in shots, including a 10-4 edge in the first half, while the Raiders had five corner kicks compared to three for the Colonials.

Wright State (1-1) is right back in action Friday at 7:30 as the road trip concludes with a match at West Virginia against the Mountaineers.
