The Wright State men's soccer team scored three first-half goals and made that stand up for a 3-0 Horizon League victory over Belmont Wednesday night at Alumni Field.

Sophomore Peguy Ngatcha opened up the scoring at the 20:08 mark of the first half with his fourth goal of the season as he connected on a shot at the top right just outside the box.  Senior Bryce Rockwell-Ashton picked up the assist, his first of the year.

WSU then made 2-0 at the 32:40 mark as sophomore Eric Lynch scored on a straight-away shot a few yards outside of the box.  It was Lynch's fourth goal of the season and it was the second assist for freshman AJ Paterson.

"We have good players up and down the roster, but it's not about us in terms of talent as much it is in terms of mentality," said WSU coach Bryan Davis.  "The guys have really started to pick up on that this week."

The Raiders then rounded out the scoring at the 42:05 mark as Paterson recorded his first collegiate goal on a header off a corner kick by Sam DeRoy.  It was the first assist of the year for DeRoy.

"It was a good win for us," said Davis.  "We set goals for ourselves every match and we were able to meet most of those goals tonight.  We have our work cut out for us, though, heading into Saturday." 

WSU recorded the shutout as the Raiders outshot the Bruins 13-6, including 6-0 on shots on goal.

Wright State (6-3-1, 1-1 Horizon), which improved to 5-0 at home this season with the win, hosts Milwaukee on Saturday at 7:00 as part of Homecoming.
