Men's Soccer Drops 3-1 Decision to Cleveland State

Box Score

The Wright State men's soccer team led 1-0 at the half, only to see Cleveland State score three times in the second half for a 3-1 Horizon League decision Wednesday night at Alumni Field.

The match was scoreless for most of the first half until the Raiders broke through with just 1:15 remaining in the period.  A free kick from just outside the right side of the box by sophomore forward Eric Lynch found sophomore midfielder Peguy Ngatcha, who knocked it in for his team-leading fifth goal of the season.  It was the ninth assist of the year for Lynch.

Cleveland State, however, tied the contest with a goal at the 50:01 mark of the second half and went in front for good as Alec Nagucki tallied his second goal of the match just 4:54 later.  The Vikings then added an insurance goal with 3:28 remaining.

Both team attempted 12 shots on the night, with CSU leading 6-3 in corner kicks.

Wright State (7-5-1, 2-3 Horizon) heads to Green Bay Saturday for a match starting at 8:00 Eastern.
