Box Score A second-half goal by Horizon League Player of the Year Eric Lynch lifted the Wright State men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Milwaukee in the first round of the league tournament Monday night at Alumni Field.
Lynch, who was named as the Player of the Year earlier in the day as well as the Offensive Player of the Year, provided the lone goal of the match at the 73:09 mark of the second half as the sophomore forward connected on a shot from the left side of the box.  Senior midfielder Michael Hayes was credited with the assist, his second of the year.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Blackmer posted his seventh shutout of the season, recording two saves in the process.
WSU outshot the Panthers 18-10 as both teams had four corner kicks.
Wright State (11-6-2) advances to the semifinals Thursday at 4:30 against #2 seed Detroit at the Oakland Soccer Field.  The 11 wins for WSU are the most since also winning 11 in 2011, a year that saw the Raiders advanced to the Horizon League championship match.
