Box Score The Wright State softball team dropped a 10-2 decision to #1 Tennessee in wrapping up play at the USF Tournament in Tampa Sunday.
The Volunteers (9-0) took control early, scoring three in the first, one in the second and two in the third to build a 6-0 advantage.
WSU broke up the shutout in the fourth as Libby Pfeffer singled to center with two outs and Becka Peterson followed with her second home run in as many days, a two-run shot to left center.
Tennessee, however, answered with four in the fifth to round out the scoring.
Wright State (0-5) returns to action at the Holiday Inn Hilltopper Classic in Bowling Green, Kentucky, February 28 to March 2, taking on Indiana State, Northern Iowa and IUPUI along with host Western Kentucky.
