Box Score 2 The softball team dropped a pair of games Saturday at the Hoosier Classic in Bloomington, Indiana, falling 7-2 to Toledo and 6-1 to host Indiana.
Toledo opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the first before WSU answered with a run in the second. With two out, Hanna Floyd singled to right, stole second and scored as Kortney Tackett singled up the middle.
The Rockets, though, extended their lead with a run in the third, three in the fifth and one more in the sixth. Wright State's final came in the seventh as Libby Pfeffer doubled in pinch-runner Kate Pfeffer.
Tackett led the Raider offense with two hits.
In the second game, Indiana built a 4-0 advantage with three runs in the first and another in the third. WSU tallied a run in the fifth on singles by Alexis Mayle, Angie Clark, Jess Gorman and Reagan Stofcheck, but the Hoosiers answered with two in their half of the inning.
Gorman had three hits in the second game for the Raiders while Clark had two.
Wright State (2-16) was to wrap up tournament play Sunday with games against Michigan State and Indiana, but both of those games have been cancelled due to anticipated winter weather hitting the region. The Raiders will return to action on Thursday, March 20, with a 5:00 doubleheader at Miami.
