Down 2-1 early, the Wright State baseball team picked up single runs in the fifth, sixth and eighth to pull out a 4-2 win at Youngstown State Friday afternoon.

The Raiders opened the scoring with a run in the second.  After Sean Murphy led off the inning by singling to left and went to second on an error, Jeff Limbaugh followed with a hit to left to drive in Murphy.  YSU, though, took the lead in the third as Jason Shirley singled and Phil Lipari hit a two-run home run.

WSU tied it in the fifth as Brad Macciocchi doubled to right and came in on a Kieston Greene grounder.  Wright State then regained the advantage for good an inning later as Murphy and Limbaugh were hit by pitches and Jason DeFevers plated Murphy with a hit to left.

The Raiders picked up an insurance run in the eighth as John Brodner connected for his first home run of the season, a solo shot to left.

Travis Hissong (2-3) earned the win as he went 7.2 innings, scattering nine hits and a walk while striking out seven.  Taylor Braun pitched out of a two-on, one-out jam in the eighth, striking out one, and Andrew Elliott picked up his fifth save by retiring the Penguins in order in the ninth.

Macciocchi, Murphy and DeFevers each had three hits to lead the WSU offense, with Murphy scoring twice.

Wright State (13-11, 7-0 Horizon) and Youngstown State (3-15, 0-1 Horizon) continue the three-game series with a single game Saturday starting at 11:00.
