Box Score

The Wright State softball team led 3-0 early, only to see Dayton take control in the later innings for a 12-4 decision Thursday afternoon at the UD Softball Stadium.

WSU took a 3-0 advantage in the first as, after walks by Jess Gorman and Taylor Knore, Becka Peterson connected on a 0-1 pitch for a three-run home run to left, her third of the season.

The Raiders maintained that lead until the Flyers scored two runs in the third and fourth to go up 4-3.  Dayton then added three more in the fifth and six in the sixth to round out its scoring.

WSU tallied its final run in the sixth as Knore walked and pinch-runner Kate Pfeffer rounded the bases on an illegal pitch and two wild pitches.

Wright State (7-25) heads to the Motor City this weekend for a three-game Horizon League series against Detroit, starting with a noon doubleheader on Saturday.
