Box Score The Wright State baseball team led 4-3 before the rains hit, but it was all Xavier after that as the Musketeers scored the final six runs of the game to win 9-4 Tuesday night at Nischwitz Stadium, ending WSU's 10-game winning streak.
The Raiders tallied an unearned run in the third before Xavier went up 3-1 in the third on a solo home run by Andre Jernigan and a two-run homer from Stephen Schoettmer, both to left field.
Wright State, though, would answer right back with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Andrew McCafferty led off with a hit up the middle and after Sean Murphy reached on an error, Joe Ford walked to load the bases. One out later, John Brodner cleared the bases with a triple to right to give WSU the lead back at 4-3.
The Raiders still held that 4-3 lead when the game was halted due to lightning with two outs in the top of the sixth. After a 1:01 rain delay, the Musketeers quickly regained the lead for good with a hit to center to drive in the tying run followed by a triple to plate the go-ahead run.
Xavier then added three runs in the eighth and another in the ninth to round out the scoring.
Brad Macciocchi had two hits for Wright State (25-17), who hosts Akron Wednesday at 6:30.
