Softball Drops Pair at UIC

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

The Wright State softball team dropped a pair of games at UIC Saturday, falling 3-2 in the opener and 12-3 in the nightcap.

The opener started well for the Raiders as after Reagan Stofcheck walked with one out, Libby Pfeffer followed with a two-run home run to left, her second of the season.

Unfortunately for WSU, that turned out to be its only hit of the game as the Flames scored a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to pull out the win.

The Wright State offense again had a strong start in the second game by scoring three runs in the first.  Kacie Rapshus was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run and after Becka Peterson walked to bring in another run, the final run came in as Kristi Boreing reached on an infield hit.

It was all UIC from there, however, as the Flames took the lead for good with four in the second and added six more in the third and two in the fifth.

Wright State (7-22, 3-3 Horizon) wraps up the series with the Flames Sunday with a single game starting at 1:00 Eastern.
