Box Score The Wright State offense could not get going against Valparaiso's Taylor Weissenhofer Wednesday, managing just three singles in falling 4-0 to the Crusaders in Horizon League Tournament action at the WSU Softball Field.
The game was scoreless until Valpo tallied a run in the fourth on a Janelle Bouchard double. The Crusaders then picked up three unearned runs in the sixth to round out the scoring.
WSU's best chance to score came in the third as hits by Taylor Knore and Kacie Rapshus with a Becka Peterson bunt in between put runners on first and third with one out. The Raiders attempted a double steal, but pinch-runner Rachael Oakley was retired at the plate and a strikeout ended the threat.
Wright State (18-31) faces Cleveland State in an elimination game Thursday morning at 11 am.
