The Wright State baseball team dropped its series opener to Valparaiso 11-1 Friday afternoon at Nischwitz Stadium.

After the Crusaders picked up a run in the third, they added two runs in both the fourth and fifth to go up 5-0.  Valpo then rounded out the scoring with five in the eighth and one more in the ninth.

The lone Raider run came in the seventh as Andrew McCafferty led off with a triple to center and scored on a Kieston Greene sacrifice fly to right.

The loss snapped a 13-game winning streak in league games, with the last loss also coming to the Crusaders on April 5 as Valparaiso swept a doubleheader that day 3-1 and 2-0.

Wright State (29-19, 21-3 Horizon) and Valparaiso (20-24, 9-10 Horizon) continue the three-game set with a single contest Saturday at 2:00.
