Box Score The Wright State men's soccer team battled #27 San Diego State even most of the night before the Aztecs scored a goal with just 4:28 remaining to pull out a 3-2 decision Friday night at the SDSU Sports Deck.
WSU grabbed the early lead at the 12:24 mark of the first half as sophomore Eric Lynch, the reigning Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week, scored his second goal of the season as he connected on a diagonal shot from the left off a cross by freshman defender Austin Polster.  It was Polster's first collegiate assist.
San Diego State, however, came right back to tie just 48 seconds later and went up 2-1 at the 36:46 mark with another goal.
The Raiders, though, came up with an answer of their own just before halftime.  At the 41:17 mark, sophomore forward Peguy Ngatcha scored his first goal as a Raider as he converted a shot from close range.  Sophomore forward Marquis Payton was credited with the assist, the first of his career.
It stayed that way for the next 44:15 until the Aztecs came up with the game-winning goal.
WSU made the most of their opportunities as San Diego State finished a 15-6 shot advantage, but the Raiders did have a 7-4 edge in corner kick.  Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Blackmer finished with four saves.
Wright State (3-1-1) wraps up the western trip Sunday night at 10:00 Eastern with a match at Grand Canyon.
