Men's Soccer Drops 3-2 Decision to Bowling Green

Box Score

Marquis Payton gave the Wright State men's soccer team the lead early in the second half with his second goal of the night, only to see Bowling Green score twice in the final 16 minutes to defeat the Raiders 3-2 at a rainy Alumni Field Tuesday evening.

Payton put the Raiders up 1-0 with his first goal at the 12:16 mark of the first half as he connected on a shot from the left of the goal to the lower right corner.  Junior forward Eric Lynch notched his second assist of the season.

The Falcons tied it late in the period before Payton struck again just 3:34 into the second half.  It was the fifth goal of the year for the junior forward and fourth in the last week while senior midfielder Wes Cain picked up his third assist of the season.

Bowling Green, however, tied it at the 74:48 mark and then came up with the game-winner at the 80:20 mark.

WSU led 21-14 and 7-4 in corner kicks.

Wright State (9-5-1) hosts San Diego State Halloween night at 7:00.
