Box Score 2 The Wright State softball team dropped a pair of games in the final day of the Hoosier Classic on Sunday, falling 5-0 to North Dakota State and 5-3 to Bowling Green.
In the opener, WSU found the offense hard to come by against Bison pitcher Krista Menke, who retired the first 19 batters before Jess Gorman singled down the right field line. North Dakota State scored two runs in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the sixth.
Bowling Green jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second game with two runs in the first and three more in the second, only to see the Raiders respond with a run in the fourth as Angie Clark reached first on a passed ball strikeout with the bases loaded as Hanna Floyd scored.
Hanna Floyd cut the deficit to 5-3 with a two-run single in the fifth, but Wright State would get no closer.
Libby Pfeffer paced the Raider offense with three hits while Gorman had two.
The home opener for Wright State (2-17) is scheduled for Tuesday as the Raiders welcome in Ohio for a 3:00 doubleheader.
