Box Score The Wright State men's soccer team opened the 2015 campaign Friday night with a 2-0 win against Binghamton in the first round of the Bert and Iris Wolstein Classic hosted by Ohio State.
With the score knotted at 0-0 after the first half, the Raiders burst through early in the second half on a header by junior Peguy Ngatcha at the 50:17 marker from from freshman Jackson Dietrich.
Wright State then made it 2-0 on a goal by junior Eric Lynch at the 52:47 mark as he connected on a shot from 18 yards out, hitting off the crossbar and going into the net. Dietrich picked up his second assist on the night on the goal.
Junior goalkeeper Tyler Blackmer made that stand up from there as he posted the shutout, the eighth of his WSU career, while recording three saves.
The Raiders finished with a 19-7 shot advantage and led in corner kicks 6-3.
Wright State is now 1-0 on the young season and will play Cal State Fullerton Sunday at Noon in Coumbus.
