The Wright State baseball team swept a doubleheader at Elon Saturday, taking the first game 13-11 in 10 innings and winning the second game 10-2.

Gabe Snyder gave the Raiders a quick 4-0 lead in the first as after Matt Morrow singled to left and Sean Murphy and Mitch Roman were each hit by a pitch, Snyder smacked a grand slam down the left field line.

Elon answered with three in its half of the first, but Ryan Fucci had a RBI single and Murphy connected on a two-run home run to right in the fourth to make it 7-3.

The Phoenix tied it with two runs in the fourth and fifth before WSU regained the lead with two in the sixth on an error and Snyder being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Elon went up 11-9 with four in the bottom of the sixth, but Wright State tied it in the seventh as Zach Weatherford tripled, Peyton Burdick walked and both scored on a Morrow double.

It stayed that way until the Raiders scored two unearned runs in the 11th for the win.

Jack Van Horn (1-0) picked up the win with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief while offensively, Snyder had five RBI, Morrow two hits, two RBI and two runs scored and Murphy two RBI and four runs scored.

In the second game, WSU again had a fast start, scoring five times in the first, including a pair of two-run homer by Fucci and Snyder. The Raiders tacked on a run in the third on a Snyder grounder and made it 10-1 with four in the fifth, the big blow being a three-run homer from Fucci, his second of the game.

Trevor Swaney (1-0) allowed just one run in six innings of relief to pick up the win, striking out three while starter Robby Sexton fanned six in three innings.

Fucci finished with three hits and four RBI while Snyder had two hits and three RBI.

Wright State (3-0) goes for the series sweep Sunday with a single game starting at 1:30.
