Wright State wraps up Saturday action

Box Score After a nearly three hour delay, the Wright State softball team dropped its fourth consecutive game falling to Eastern Kentucky 10-0 Saturday night in Macon, Ga. as the Colonels used an early 3-0 lead in the first inning to set the tone for the remainder of the contest.

Sammi Miller got the bats started for what would ultimately be a 3-0 first inning for Eastern Kentucky as she singled past third base, which brought up Zoe Mihalicz who recorded an RBI triple for the Colonels. Wright State looked to answer in the top of the second as Grace Gressly would be hit by a pitch but would later be erased on Madison Hartman's fielder's choice ground ball. The Raiders' defense was able to keep the Colonels from scoring in the bottom of the second inning.

Eastern Kentucky connected on back to back solo home runs in the bottom of the fifth inning before a three-run Mattira Morales in the sixth would give Eastern Kentucky the 10-0 advantage.

Olivia Otani would record the loss for the Raiders after allowing 10 runs off of 12 hits in 5.1 innings pitched.

The Raiders are back in action for the final day of the Mercer Invitational as they face off against Tennessee Tech for the second time, first pitch is scheduled for 9 a.m.
