The Wright State softball team wraps-up preseason tournament play at the ASU Invitational, playing five game games over three days against five separate opponents in Tempe, Arizona.
The Raiders will begin the ASU Invitational against Oregon State on Thursday night at 5 p.m. ET before a matchup with tournament host Arizona State later that evening at 8:00 p.m. ET. Friday's action will see Wright State take on Nebraska at 1:30 p.m. ET before facing off against New Mexico State later that evening at 6:30 p.m. ET. The Raiders will end their time in Arizona with a Buckeye State showdown facing off against Ohio State at 11 a.m. ET Saturday morning.

LAST TIME OUT
Wright State split the weekend at the Scotsman Invitational in Clinton, South Carolina, finishing the weekend 2-2, tallying 31 total runs over the weekend.
Freshman
Payton Baxter led the Raiders with a .583 batting average and a 1.250 slugging percentage over the weekend. The freshman had a pair of multi-hit games, including a 2-for-3 showing at the plate with four runs and three driven in courtesy of a two-out, three-run homerun in a five inning win over Wagner. She later recorded a two-run RBI single against Presbyterian, going 2-for-2 and driving in three runs.

Oregon State
Oregon State heads to the ASU Invitational with an overall record of 14-7 so far this season and in the Pac-12, sits as followed in team categories: 1. ERA (1.90), 1. Opponent BA (.171), T1. Catching runners stealing (five), T2. Batters Struck Out (171), T2. Lowest Earned Runs Allowed (27) and T3. Fielding DP (six). As a team, OSU clocks in as followed in the NCAA: No. 3 ERA (1.30), T-No. 19 Shutouts (six) and No. 9 in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.28).
Arizona State
The Sun Devils are currently ranked No. 17 (16-6 overall) in the 2020 USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Sun Devils finished the 2019 regular season with a 35-20 record on the season, finishing fourth in the Pac-12 with a 13-11 record in league play. The 35 wins pushed ASU to their 25th straight season with 30 or more wins, while the team's 13 wins in Pac-12 play marked the second-straight winning season in league play, and is the 12th winning season in conference play in program history.

Nebraska
Nebraska is currently 8-10 in their 2020 campaign but have faced off against five top 25 opponents heading into the ASU Invitational. Tristen Edwards went 1-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs. The homer marked her 39th career home run. She needs two to move into a tie for fifth place on Nebraska's career home runs chart. The extra-base hit moves her into sixth on Nebraska's career extra-base hits chart with 79.
New Mexico State
New Mexico State finished the 2019 season with a 33-22 record which included a 12-6 WAC record. The Aggies lost their three major offensive weapons from last season in Mya Felder, Victoria Castro and Kelsey Horton. They each started every game last season and batted above .300. The trio combined for 40 of the team's 70 home runs. Felder led the team, hitting .357. Horton had a team-best .711 slugging percentage and 18 home runs.
Ohio State
Ohio State posted 35 wins in 2019, the eighth straight season with at least 30 victories and seventh under head coach Kelly Kovach Schoenly. The Buckeyes last competed at the Fresno State Invitational where they went 3-2 with victories over UCSB, Pacific and UIC. The team recorded 40 hits, 21 runs, 18 RBI and 12 extra-base hits, including eight doubles.
