Box Score BOWLING GREEN, OH – A pair of first half goals was too much for the Wright State men's soccer team to overcome on Tuesday night, as the Raiders fell 3-0 at Bowling Green in the I-75 Cup.
The Raiders (1-4) were paced by
Presten Manthey's four shots, two of which were on frame, while
Kelvin Effah added a pair of shots of his own as Wright State was narrowly outshot, 14-12. Bowling Green placed six attempts on frame compared to the Raiders' three.
Bowling Green (4-1-1) tallied its first goal of the night in the 16th minute off a strike from Nathan Masters into the top left corner before adding to the advantage in the 32nd minute on Roberto Fernandez Garrido's goal to a similar location. The hosts added the eventual final goal of the night early in the second half when Sergi Martinez found the back of the next in the 53rd minute.
Wright State returns home on Saturday afternoon for the first Horizon League home contest of the year when the Raiders host Green Bay.
