LAST TIME OUT
Despite doubling up Oakland in total shots, Wright State dropped its first Horizon League match of the season last Saturday, falling 1-0 to the host Golden Grizzlies on a windy afternoon in Michigan. Wright State finished with a 16-8 overall shot advantage, including a 9-2 lead in shots on goal, with Reece Allbaugh's five shots a match high. Allbaugh and John Lynam each had two shots on frame to pace the Raiders, while Osterholt was the only other Wright State player with multiple shots with his two attempts.

SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
Western Michigan is 10-2-1 overall entering Saturday, including a 4-1 mark at home. The Broncos have seen their share of the Horizon League, defeating Oakland 3-0 on Tuesday, while also tallying wins over Purdue Fort Wayne (3-0) and Detroit Mercy (4-0) during the regular season on the road. Western Michigan also downed Cleveland State in exhibition action 5-0 back in August. Western Michigan went 7-6-5 last season with a 2-3-1 mark in MAC play.

HISTORY VS. WESTERN MICHIGAN
The last two meetings between Wright State and Western Michigan have come in exhibition play (2019 and 2021), with the last regular season matchup back in 2012. The Raiders hold a 7-5 advantage all-time in the series.

DOWN THE STRETCH
Following Saturday's match, Wright State wraps up non-conference play by hosting Marshall Wednesday. The Raiders have just two Horizon League contests remaining over the final three weeks of the regular season, with both coming in back-to-back matches to close the regular season schedule. The Raiders will travel to current HL leader Cleveland State on Saturday, October 29 and then end the regular season by hosting Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, November 2. Cleveland State begins the weekend two points ahead of the Raiders in the standings but Detroit Mercy remains in striking distance in third place as teams jockey to get the first round bye in the HL tournament.

UP NEXT
Wright State returns home to Alumni Field for two of its final three matches, beginning with a midweek non-conference matchup against Marshall Wednesday with a 7 p.m. first kick.
