HISTORY VS. INDIANA
Tuesday evening's matchup will mark the 26th all-time meeting between Wright State and Indiana, a series the Hoosiers lead 17-8. The series between the Raiders and the Hoosiers dates all the way back to 1977, a matchup the Raiders won 4-1. Wright State also came out on top 15-4 when the two teams met at Indiana in 2019.
Â
SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS
Indiana enters the weekend at 6-9 on the season and 1-2 in the Big 10. Last weekend, the Hoosiers went 1-2 against Washington, taking the series opener 4-2 before dropping the next two games 2-9 and 4-13.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Raiders shutout No. 19 Tennessee 6-0 on Sunday afternoon to pick up a big win in the finale of the three-game set in Knoxville. It is the second ranked win for the Raiders this season after taking down No. 6 Georgia opening weekend.
Â
Wright State got a quality start on the mound from junior Chet Lax in his home state Sunday afternoon. The Hendersonville, TN native twirled seven shutout innings, allowing just five hits while striking out four Volunteers. Lax commanded the strike zone, throwing 63 strikes on 84 pitches and allowing no walks on the afternoon. The left-hander picked up the win, moving him to 4-0 on the season
Â
Tennessee threatened to strike first in the bottom of the third inning. With a runner on second base, Henry Ford delivered with a single out to left field. The Tennessee base runner would round third but was cut down at home when JP Peltier fired the ball home to Zac Butler, who laid the tag down to end the third inning.
Â
After five scoreless frames, the Raiders would strike first with three runs in the top of the sixth. Peltier would get the party started with a two-run double up the left field line. Cy Turner would drive in Peltier a few batters later with a double of his own.
Â
Peltier would add a run of insurance in the top of the eighth with a solo shot over the wall in left. The home run is Peltier's third of the season. Butler would give the Raiders even more insurance in the top of the ninth with a two-run shot out to left, his first homer of the season.
Â
After his seven shutout frames, Lax would turn the ball over to Malachi Paplanus for the final two innings. The sophomore shut down Tennessee, allowing just one hit while striking out two Volunteers.
Â

Wright State will challenge itself in its non-conference schedule, with eight of its 12 opponents winning 30-plus games a season ago. The Raiders will also face off against four teams that made the NCAA Tournament in 2025, with Georgia and Tennessee each hosting a regional.

The Raidergang return 56% of their roster from a season ago, 64% of their plate appearances, and 55% of their innings pitched.
