HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY- The Wright State baseball team clinched its eighth consecutive Horizon League Regular Season title but fell to Northern Kentucky 12-11 in walk-off fashion Friday afternoon.

Wright State (22-23, 15-4 HL) will be back in action Saturday afternoon for game two of its three-game set with Northern Kentucky. First pitch against the Norse is slated for 1 p.m.

The Raiders secured their eighth consecutive Horizon League Regular Season title before they even took the field Friday afternoon, thanks to Milwaukee falling to Youngstown State 13-11. Wright State will once again host the Horizon League Championship at Nischwitz Stadium May 20-23.

The Raidergang jumped on the board first with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Braylen Blomquist opened the scoring with a bases-loaded walk. Gus Gregory would follow that with a two-run single. Northern Kentucky would respond with three runs of their own in the bottom half to tie the game back up.

Wright State would regain the lead with one run in the top of the third on an Andrew Duncan RBI single. Gregory would extend the Wright State lead back to three with a two-run homer in the top of the third inning. The homer is Gregory's fourth of the season.

Northern Kentucky would once again respond with a big inning of their own, scoring four runs in the bottom of the third to take a one-run lead.

The Raiders would regain the lead in the top of the fourth with a pair of runs. JP Peltier came in to score on a double play, and Duncan scored on a wild pitch. Patrick Fultz would deliver an RBI double in the top of the seventh to increase the Wright State lead to 9-7.

Cy Turner would continue to swing a hot bat for the Raiders, launching his team-leading ninth homer over the centerfield wall in the top of the eighth. The two-run shot game the Raiders a four-run advantage entering the final frame.

Northern Kentucky would erase Wright State's four-run lead with five runs of their own in the bottom of the ninth. Mark Nowak would deliver a two-run single before Landon Springmeyer parked a three-run walk off homer over the left field wall.
