Complete Schedule in PDF Format

DAYTON, Ohio – Head Coach Bridgett Williams and the Wright State women's basketball team have announced their 2009-10 schedule, including 13 home dates and six games versus postseason teams from 2008-09. WSU will look for a return trip to the Horizon League Championship game after falling in the tournament semifinals last season and improve on their 15-16 record.

“A schedule like this shows our programs growth and dedication to competing at the highest level,” said head coach Bridgett Williams. “We are very excited to play some tough games away from home and welcome some very good opponents to the Nutter Center. It will be another very competitive year in the Horizon League and I believe that our non-conference slate will prepare our team to compete for a championship at season's end.”

The Green and Gold will play the opening game of their schedule on the road at IPFW (11/14) before heading home for a four-game home stand. The opening match will be played against Eastern Kentucky on November 19 at 7:00, followed by a game versus Akron on November 22. Robert Morris will make the trip to the Nutter Center for a November 28 tilt to end the month.

December opens with a contest against NCAA Tournament Participant Vanderbilt (12/2) coming to Dayton for a 7:00 game. The Raiders will then head across town to take on Dayton, who made an appearance in the WNIT, on December 6. A pair of Ohio teams will appear on the schedule next, as WSU travels to Miami (12/9) and to NCAA qualifier Ohio State (12/15).

The road trip continues with a trip to Chestnut Hills, Mass. where the Green and Gold will take on Boston College (12/20) who finished last season with a 23-12 mark and a WNIT berth. WSU will end the 2009 calendar year with a jaunt to Cincinnati to face off with the Bearcats in their final non-conference matchup of the season.

The Horizon League schedule kicks off on January 3 with a trip to Detroit, with WSU finishing up an eight-game road swing with games at Green Bay (1/7) and Milwaukee (1/9). The Chicagoland schools will head to Dayton for games on January 14 and 16, which is 43 days between home dates for WSU. Loyola (1/14) will play a 7:00 contest at the Nutter Center, followed by the Flames of UIC (1/16) in a 1:00 tilt.

The Horizon League's WNIT participant Butler will be next up for WSU as the Raiders travel to Indianapolis for a 7:00 game on December 21. A trip to Valparaiso on December 23 will lead WSU into their second, four-match home stand of the season.

Cleveland State (1/18) and Youngtown State (1/30) will travel to the Nutter Center to cap the month of January, while Milwaukee (2/4) and Green Bay (2/6) will head to Dayton to start February.  The Raiders will then head to the Windy City for games at UIC on February 11 and at Loyola on February 13.

WSU will close out the regular season with three of their final five games in the friendly confines of the Ervin J. Nutter Center, starting with a game versus Valparaiso on February 18. That game will be followed by a home contest versus Butler (2/20) and road contests at Youngstown State (2/25) and Cleveland State (2/27).

The month of March will see WSU wrap up their 28-game regular season schedule with a contest against Detroit at 1:00 on March 6. The Horizon League Tournament opens on the March 8 with the seven and eight seeds hosting contests, before the top-four seeds host the second round matchups. The semifinals and finals will be played on the campus of the highest remaining seed, with a champion being crowned on Sunday, March 14.
