Wright State shot 48 percent overall and from three-point range and had three players score 20 or more points as the Raiders rolled to a 95-47 women's basketball exhibition victory over Kentucky State Monday night at the Nutter Center.
WSU scored the first eight points of the contest, including a three and layup by Maria Bennett and gradually built on the margin from there the remainder of the first half, with the 48-20 halftime score the largest.
The second half was more of the same as Wright State's biggest lead of the night came as Courtney Boyd hit a three with 22 seconds left for the final score.
The Raiders shot 48 percent overall from the field and were 11 of 23 from behind the arc, also 48 percent. WSU held a 55-36 rebounding advantage and led 44-24 in points in the paint and 19-4 in second-chance points.
Bennett and Boyd each had 22 points to pace Wright State, Bennett's coming on an eight-for-10 shooting performance, including six-of-eight from three-point range, while Boyd's 22 came off the bench as she connected on five three-pointers.
LaShawna Thomas posted a double-double of 20 points and 11 assists as did Molly Fox, who had 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Wright State opens the regular season on Friday, November 12, as the Raiders visit IUPUI for a 7:00 contest.
