Box Score The Wright State baseball team rallied from a 4-0 deficit with four in the eighth to force extra innings, only to see Ole Miss tally the game-winner in the 10th for a 5-4 decision in the second game of their weekend series Saturday in Oxford, Mississippi.
The Rebels scored twice in the second and appeared to be in control with two more in the seventh. WSU, though, would answer with four in the eighth to tie the game.
With one out, Kody Krizman singled to right center and after Dan Marsh walked, both runners moved up on a passed ball. Sam Picchiotti had a hit to center to drive in Krizman with the first run and Jake Hibberd followed with a single to right to make it 4-2.
One out later, Picchiotti and pinch-runner Ben Smith advanced into scoring position on another passed ball and both scored as Corey Davis doubled to right to tie the game.
The Raiders posed a threat in the 10th as Zach Tanner led off with a double and advanced to third on a Tristan Moore sacrifice bunt, but did not score as Tanner was retired on a fielder's choice grounder. Ole Miss then scored the game-winner in its half of the inning.
Wright State outhit Ole Miss 11-10 as Picchiotti, Hibberd, Davis and Krizman each had two hits, The WSU bullpen of Michael Meintel, Jordan Marker and Michael Schum allowed just one earned run in 5.2 innings with three strikeouts.
The two teams wrap up series with a single game Sunday at 2:30 Dayton time.
