Volleyball Adds Niagara Transfer to 2013 Roster

The Wright State volleyball program has announced the addition of Niagara transfer Ellen Senf, a 6-0 right side hitter, to the 2013 roster.

Senf (St. Paul, MN/Central) comes to WSU after playing the past three seasons for the Purple Eagles, including the 2010 and 2011 campaigns under current Raider coach Susan Clements.  Last season, Senf was a Second Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) honoree as she recorded 322 kills and a .303 attack percentage while adding 46 block assists and 43 digs.

Senf reached double figures in kills 19 times in 2012, including a season-high 19 in hitting .500 at Rider (19/1/36) on October 28.  She had 18 kills at Iona, 16 against Bucknell at the La Salle Invitational and 15 on three other occasions.  Senf posted an attack percentage of .300 or better in 16 matches, with her season-high being .611 (12/1/18) against Marist on October 20.

As a sophomore in 2011, Senf had 292 kills and hit .272 as she earned Second Team All-MAAC honors.  She recorded 254 kills and 51 blocks in 2010 in being selected as the MAAC Rookie of the Year.  In both 2010 and 2011, the Purple Eagles finished 25-9, won both the MAAC regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Senf earned all-conference honors three times while playing at Central High School. As a member of the Mizuno Northern Lights club team, she helped lead her team to three straight AAU titles.

As a senior, Senf was named All State Honorable Mention while spending two seasons as team captain.  She also won the best offensive player award twice and team MVP award three times.

Senf, who graduated from Niagara in three years and twice earned All-MAAC academic honors, has begun taking graduate classes in accounting at Wright State.
