Baseball Completes Sweep of Oakland

Box Score

The Wright State baseball team stretched its winning streak to 10 and posted its sixth Horizon League series sweep of the season Sunday with a 17-6 win at Oakland.

After a scoreless first, the Raiders took control in the second with six runs, the big blow being a three-run double off the bat of Michael Timm.  WSU added another run in the third and then made it 10-3 with three in the fourth by taking advantage of a pair of Golden Grizzly errors.

The margin grew to 17-3 as Wright State scored twice in the fifth, one in the sixth and four in the eighth.  Oakland rounded out the scoring with three in the bottom of the eighth.

Offensively for the Raiders, Brad Macciocchi had three hits and two runs scored, Timm two hits and three RBI, Jeff Limbaugh two hits, two runs scored and three RBI and Jason DeFevers two hits, three runs scored and two RBI.

Wright State (25-16, 18-2 Horizon) has a busy week ahead, hosting Xavier and Akron, respectively, on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30 before welcoming in Youngstown State for a three-game series starting with a single game Friday, also at 6:30.
