Box Score The Wright State baseball team pushed across two unearned runs in the 13th to defeat Milwaukee 4-2 Friday at Henry Aaron Field.
WSU picked up a two-out run in the third as Jason DeFevers was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on an Andrew McCafferty hit to right, only to see the Panthers answer with two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a Ryan Solberg home run.
The Raiders tied it in the fifth on a DeFevers sacrifice fly and it stayed 2-2 for the next seven innings despite Milwaukee having two runners on base in its half of the fifth and leaving the bases loaded in the seventh.
In the 13th, McCafferty led off with a hit through the left side of the infield and went to third on a Cody Simon bunt and a Joe Ford ground out. Sean Murphy then reached on an error as McCafferty scored to break the tie and after moving up to third on a John Brodner hit and a wild pitch, he scored as Jack Murphy delivered a double down the left field line.
Darion Nunn (3-1) picked up the win as he pitched the final two innings, allowing no hits and a walk while striking out one. The Raider bullpen of Taylor Braun, Logan Blair, Andrew Elliott and Nunn combined for nine shutout innings, giving up just four hits while fanning eight, five by Elliott in his three innings of work.
Wright State (33-19, 25-3 Horizon) and Milwaukee (18-27, 9-14 Horizon) close out the series and the regular season with a single game Saturday at 1:00 Eastern.
