The Wright State women's basketball team scored 30 points in the first quarter and never looked back in rolling to a 110-60 exhibition win over Urbana Sunday afternoon at the Wright State Nutter Center.
The Raiders led the entire way as they scored the first six points of the game, four by Lexi Smith, and went up 30-12 after a period thanks to nine of 18 shooting from the field and hitting 10 of 12 foul shots.
WSU gradually built on the advantage the rest of the way, leading by as much as 102-46 mdiway through the fourth quarter.
For the game, Wright State shot 47 percent from the field, including nine of 22 from three-point range, while Urbana shot 30 percent.  The Raiders were 29 of 42 at the stripe and led 34-16 in points in the paint, 23-2 in points off of turnovers and 12-0 in fast-break points.
Chelsea Welch paced the Raiders with 30 points, 24 coming in the first half, and added seven rebounds and five assists while Smith posted a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds.  Mackenzie Taylor added 22 points and Emily Vogelpohl chipped in 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
Wright State opens the regular season on Friday, November 11, with a 7:00 contest at Tennessee Tech.
