Box Score The Wright State baseball team rallied with two runs in the eighth to force extra innings, only to see Bowling Green push across a run in the 10th for a 7-6 decision Tuesday night at Nischwitz Stadium.
BGSU scored a two-out run in the first before WSU gained a 2-1 lead in the second as Matt Morrow walked and, one out later, Brad Macciocchi connected on his first home run of the season to right.
The Falcons, though, answered with three unearned runs in the third and added single runs in the fifth and sixth. Morrow hit his first home run of the year in the fourth and Daniel Arthur doubled in Morrow in the sixth, but the Raiders still trailed 6-4 heading to the bottom of the eighth.
Arthur started the Wright State rally in the eighth as he reached on a passed ball following a strikeout and pinch-runner Adrian Marquez scored as Macciocchi tripled down the right field line. Macciocchi later scored on a John Brodner squeeze play.
Bowling Green, however, tallied the winning run in the 10th.
Macciocchi was a perfect three-for-three with three RBI and two runs scored while Morrow had three hits and three runs scored and Mitch Roman added three hits.
Wright State (24-12) hits the road for a pair of Horizon League doubleheaders this weekend, traveling to Youngstown State on Friday for a 1:00 twinbill, followed by two at Northern Kentucky on Sunday at noon.
