DAYTON — The Wright State volleyball team makes the short trip down I-75 for a Tuesday night tilt with Northern Kentucky in a matchup of two 2-0 teams in the Horizon League early in the conference schedule. Tuesday's match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start and is expected to be streamed on ESPN+.

Wright State opened Horizon League play with a pair of home wins over IU Indy, sweeping the Friday night matchup before a four set Saturday win. The Raiders were led by
Mya Ayro's match-high 13 kills on Friday, while
Reilly Zegunis added 12 kills and a pair of blocks with a service ace.
Katie Sowko just missed double-digit kills of her own, finishing with nine as she filled her stat line with three digs, two blocks and a pair of service aces. Saturday saw Sowko finish with 10 kills and 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the season, while
Lauren Yacobucci dished out 31 of Wright State's 38 assists and added 13 digs for her seventh double-double of the year.
STARTING THE HORIZON
After Friday's win over IU Indy to begin HL play, Wright State has won its Horizon League-opening match in six of the last seven seasons, dating back to 2019, with the lone blemish a five-set loss against Northern Kentucky to begin the 2021 HL slate. Over the same six year stretch, the Raiders have a pair of undefeated Horizon League seasons (Spring 2021, Fall 2022).

Wright State grabbed a pair of three-set sweeps last season against Northern Kentucky and have won six of the last seven matchups between the two teams dating back to the 2022 season.

Northern Kentucky started Horizon League play with a pair of home wins over Cleveland State last weekend and has won three of its last four matches overall. NKU won just two of its first six matches but has won four of its last seven matches entering Tuesday.
