Box Score The Wright State baseball team led 1-0 in the fourth, but it was all Oregon State from there as the #4 Beavers pulled away in the sixth and seventh for a 13-2 win in the finale of a four-game series Sunday in Corvallis.
After three scoreless innings, WSU broke through with a run in the fourth. Joe Ford reached on a bunt single to start the frame and went to second on a throwing error. A Michael Timm ground out advanced Ford to third and he scored as Jeff Limbaugh singled through the left side of the infield.
Oregon State, though, answered right back with a run of its own in the bottom of the inning to tie the game and the Beavers went in front to stay with two more runs in the fifth and five more in both the sixth and seventh.
The final run for the Raiders came in the ninth as Brad Macciocchi walked and later scored on a Jack Murphy double to left.
Ford led the WSU offense with two hits.
Wright State (3-8) is scheduled to cohost the Dayton Classic this weekend as the Raiders and Flyers will face each other twice along with Bradley. Check back with wsuraiders.com for any schedule updates.
